Angono - ang UNO; with water rescuers, why worry
Angono Rizal PHL | November 23, 2013
It is town fiesta today in Angono Rizal in honor of its patron saint St. Clement, a pope and martyr. This event is a tourist attraction for both foreign and local nationals. The lake water is deeper now compared to past fiestas. A lot of water rescuers and resources have been deployed today: from Phil Coast Guard, Angono BFP, and Cainta BFP rescue team. One of them Joel Adriano was a running mate at Angono Running Club, several years back. (a decade or 2 decades?)

The Angono Lakefront Park is usually underwater resort on fiesta day
Angono - ang UNO - It is more fun underwater?
Angono, Rizal PHL | November 23, 2013
The Angono Lakefront Park was underwater last year. But today, the water is a little bit deeper. There were more typhoons earlier. That is why there were more water rescuers present aside from the Angono BFP contingent: the Philippine Coast Guard, the Cainta BFP rescue team. I met Joel Adriano, who is from Angono, ex EP of PAF intelligence, a fellow marathoner, and now one of the trainers of the Cainta BFP rescue team under Mayor Nieto (vice Mon Ilagan whose wife did not make in his reelection bid)

The tricycle bravely crossing the muddy/sewery water
Water lilies growing wildly because of the sewer water?
Teen agers having fun
Are ducks having fun today?
The dog and his master having fun stroll today
Strolling and swimming at the same time
The lake water mixes with sewer water. Yukks
The see saw is more fun under water?
Wading in ankle deep water going to the park
Rescue rubber boat on standby
Who is brave enough to park?

The Angono Pagoda for the fluvial lake procession up close and personal
Angono - ang UNO - It is more fun in the Pagoda
We have never been close to the Pagoda in the past because it is parked away from shore, there are many people guards in the pagoda who would not like you dare touch or be in the structure. This time, the Pagoda was parked near its shed (garage) because the lake water level is still high. See the photos up close and personal:
View from atop the lighthouse/tower
View from the street level
It is supported by 5 bancas, hence they coined teh work, Sangbangka (see side of the banca)
See the flooded road where we used to jog and bike?
I am but one meter away from the inside of the pagoda
That is right there are 5 bancas lashed together supporting the pagoda.
The seniors built this and guards the pagoda zealously; dont you dare climb it if you are not authorized!
