Photo study of bancas at Angono Lakeside Park
Ang Uno sa Lahat
The bamboo poles from afar look magical
Looks like a painting to me
A gathering of bancas; plenty of fish to catch in the area?
With bougainvilla in the foreground

A detail of the fish at the Angono Lakeside Park sculpture
In contrast, a dead janitor fish floating belly up
This author lost his camera about 2 months ago in a travel to Laguna and hence was not able to post pictures, It is a well known fact that no pictures, no readers. Right? So let this author make it up to the follower of Angono Chronicles.

More budget for the repair of roads
Ang Uno sa Lahat
Angono Rizal Philippines | January 1, 2014
Somebody was hurt here, it was repaired (perhaps not well) and its again in disrepair
This post understands that the LGU in this town could have been a city owing to its hundreds of millions in annual revenues. However, maybe we could allocate some funds for road repair because they have been cause of accidents. Roads do wear out and we need to maintain repair them. I learned that a former classmate heads the General Services (in charge of cleaning sweeping and having these things repaired. ) May be his work can be improved for the sake of safety and public service
x Concrete roads do wear out posing threat to safety of riders
This is dangerous for 2 wheeled vehicle and there are plenty using this road!

Have our people forgotten the death of Dr Jose Rizal; have we lost desire to be heroes?

Rizal Philippines | January 1, 2015
The ceremonies last Tuesday started late. No flower offerings yet
The attendance during the 118th death anniversary of late Dr. Jose Rizal was uninspiring. Perhaps he no longer represents the aspirations of our people; It could be Dingdong Dantes or John Lloyd or Cris Aquino but no longer Dr. Jose Rizal. In the first place it was alleged that no legislation has been made through the National Historical Commission making him the national hero. Perhaps, it was true that he as a national hero was a creation of the Americans. Or perhaps is it because he used an AKA, he being really a Mercado?
The national leaders/politicos have made themselves the heroes of today. And oh yes the dynasties have placed their names in every public buildings they built, and hence we forgot Dr. Jose Rizal...
But in our life we need hero. And at the moment, nobody comes close to the talent and the achievement of Dr. Jose Rizal
Dr Jose Rizal's sculputure is hidden from view and is so far away for most of us
The flower wreaths were aplenty though during the ceremonies
A dance number in honor of Dr. Jose Rizal
Were the empties in his honor too?
The band members
The PET Christmas trees; the tiangges at the plaza overwhelmed the old Dr.

The revelry that was welcoming 2015 - plenty of fire and noise

Courtesy of our neighbor
Despite the heavy pronouncements that there will be no fire crackers, only horns are being encouraged, old habits die hard. Just before midnight, the whole of Philippine was transformed into a one huge battle/war zones with loud explosions coming from all types of pyrotechnics (firecrackers and fireworks.
Here are some of their pictures (at least in my neighborhood.) By the way there are least 5 among our neighbors who spend thous for fireworks (That does not include the municipality fireworks) Tonight there are more fireworks. 7 years ago I was excited when we introduced fireworks during All Saints day celebrations. We must have spend nearly half a million pesos during the period when we supported such an event. Looking back we burned precious pesos for a few minutes of excitement just like last night.
It so challenging to capture the glory of fireworks

An Unusual Photo of a KIngfisher looking as if attacking a fisherman

This unusual photo looks as if the bird is about to attack a fisherman? Maybe it is the effect of using a zoom lens
