A number of citizens and institutions were given awards last night by the municipality of Angono. The objective of course is to celebrate and motivate the citizens to do better. From a mere PHP 38 million gross revenues, the income of Angono has risen to PHP 200 million, making Angono eligible to be a city. But it wont be because its land area is only l,700 hectares; the minimum area to be a city is 2,000 hectares.
Some of the awardees:
Top taxpayers: Manila Water, Sons and kindred (they are our neighbor at Fuentes Bldg) but I do not see any of their staff, RACE ventures.
Other awardees : some of them were given awards by the province last June 11, 2013: Dr. Sanvictores (former directress of Angono Private High School) Mr. Nemi Miranda for arts, Prof Ligaya Rubin; Ms. Luzviminda Vocalan - Balaw balaw restaurant.
Ms. Iluminada Miranda, Mr Ravanzos of Raises Academy, Ms. Magpantay of St Martin Montessori; RJ David for business; Mr. Celestino Santiago - education; Patnubay Tiamson - literature. Saturnino Tiamson Jr. (music); Mr. Tolentino - sports (forward of SBC juniors), Mr. O. Panlillo - music, (I did not get the name of the awardee for mind games) and Prof Jorge Saguinsin for business.
It is to be noted that the bulk of awardees are: young, are either in education and arts.
