Angono - ang UNO
Angono Rizal PHL | August 25, 2013
The Mayor of Angono (now an MPA graduate just like Mon Ilagan of Cainta who graduated with Gold Medal at Ateneo School of Government) would, judging from his statement change the trajectory of his vision for Angono. On two occasion, he spoke to me one during theAngono Jaycee Past President reunion; and recently last August 17, 2013 after I delivered my AngoNegosyo presentation.
The culture/art, environment friendly set up would still be there but economic progress would form a large part of the blue print: more business, more PPP say at the current market site for a terminal and commercial spaces/offices (just like Agora in San Juan, and Dasmarinas Cavite)
Having peaked the revenues of the town with limited land area, and burgeoning dependent squatter populations who are to be patronized and taken care of every time there is a calamity, the art capital thing may no longer be functional. It is noted that in the past only artists are awarded but increasingly we see rewards/recognition for taxpayers, businessman, and school owners.
He looks forward to a business council where the govt and businessmen/entrepreneurs would work closely with one another (government entrepreneurship).
I see that the strengths of Angono are in: medical facilities, commerical establishment (hypermart is starting construction now, and we have 3 other supermarkets) and schools. That could be start of something new
