The rains from typhoon Maring continue, the river banks are not inundated but the Lakeside park is!

Angono - ang UNO

This used to be a road.  It about under l/2 foot of water.

The rains since August 18, 2013 from typhoon Maring has left 70% of MM under water and majority of areas declared under state of emergency:    Taytay, San Mateo Rizal, all of the province of Laguna, Tarlac, Pampanga, portion of Bataan, Bulacan;   I heard water of Felix (Imelda Avenue) in Cainta Rizal is waist deep.

The mayor of this town claimed that after a massive river excavation, and its river mouth and near the Lakeside park, the carrying capacity of the waterway has been greatly increased.  Only the Lake need to be dredged or needs to be drained as was suggested by Gov. Ejercito of Laguna.   The current design of the floodway and Laguna Lake, he said is obsolete and is more of a bane to current coastal towns.

True enough in Angono, only the Lakeside park is underwater.  The river did not swell as before.  And Bagumbayan did not go underwater, as was in the past.  (Thank you Mayor;  you even studied hydraulics to have this done)

The statue is now lonely amidst the water; but at home as a mermaid?

It will take 3 months for water to drain from the the lake?

The river is not so swollen at 10 am today

                                  No floods at Bagumbayan
